Thursday

Colleagues,

Clearly the snow and ice is dominating the headlines but also creating difficulties for workers getting into work or in some cases making work difficult or even dangerous particularly in outdoor, transport or logistics related jobs.
I would be grateful if you could contact me  ciaran.naidoo@unitetheunion.com   if you are aware of any particular difficulties members/reps might be experiencing with their employers because of the snow and ice.
If you have any examples - with a view to publication - of employers behaving unacceptably with staff because of the weather I would be grateful if you could let me know. Equally if you have any examples of good practice from employers or agreements the union has reached related to the weather conditions which might be worth publication could you also let me know too. Or any examples of workers doing great work in difficult conditions would be good too

why are there no dates, only times on these blogs, is it because the Union do not want us to see how long it has been since they posted the blog about balloting for strike action. The time where we could of had most effect will be over when everyone has thier Christmas oil...GB oils would love us to strike when it's quiet, another excuse to get rid of a few more drivers.

Totally agree with 3.45PM. I can only assume the reason the strike ballot hasn't materialised is the union top bods have shares in GB Oils!!!! WHERE IS THE STRIKE BALLOT MR WEBB??

Qoute from a earlier post by the 'union'

In conclusion, I really do know the members’ frustration but please be assured that I have now received additional administrative resources to ensure that this ballot is completed as quick as possible.
In the meantime I would ask that our members bear with me and their National leadership so that we can complete this correctly and at the same time effectively.
I thought it was important at this stage to let you, the members, know that we are not dragging our feet and there is absolutely no delay within this process.

WHAT THE CHUFF ARE THE 'ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE RESOURCES' F##KING DOING????
'NOT DRAGGING YOUR FEET' BOLLOCKS, WE HAVE MISSED THE IDEAL TIME FOR A WORK TO RULE , STRIKE, WHATEVER, THIS STINKS OF A BIG BACK HANDER TO SOME ONE TO DRAG IT OUT UNTIL WE ARE NOT SO BUSY SO gb EFING oils CAN MAKE A SHIT LOAD FOR THIER SHARE HOLDERS.

Why can't gb oils pay for winter tyres for the tankers? going up farm tracks and minor roads that have not been treated on motorway tyres is damn dangerous. Surely spending a bit on tyres would save bringing some deliveries back to the depot. I personally believe it is a health and safety requirement by the company and it would be them sued if they had sent a tanker out not fit for the road conditions and there was a major incident.

winter tyres thats a laugh some drivers cant even get a hose replaced as the company sees them as too expensive.

i'm starting to wonder how many customers we will have left next year after they have been ripped off by our greedy company.£250 on top of the price for a delivery within 2 days.how do we explain to the old dears on the doorstep who paid 40 odd pence a few months ago.i personnally tell them it's to pay the shareholders, that the company don't give a toss about its drivers just as long as the money is rolling in

I don’t know!!! the ones that are posting this crap do not a have brain that they were born with. For a start if we went out on the gate at this time what do you think that the public would say? Oh it maters what they think.
To accuses Ron Webb with been in bed with the company I just don’t think so it all takes time. And you will get your time at the start of the New Year then we will see what size your balls are I hope they are as big as the mouths of some of you oh well back to the snow Happy Xmas to all.
