Could anyone from GB Oils confirm who is looking after health & safty within the north west region (T park & E port at the moment, we currently have no one to ask for anything H&S related & this months meeting have not taken place either, they get rid of staff but dont think about the people still working that are putting them selves in danger day in day out

Health and Safety is just One thing too worry about in the North West! with recent management changes , ie getting rid of Suoervisors and to give their work too "managers" who are basicly sales driven and now have too much to do to be professional (not a poke at managers but its now 1 person doing 2 persons job)Health and safety is all ready being overlooked transport will go the same way and GB will be back on VOSA,s hit list , i am suprised that the H&S have sat back and let this go on, but in the NW i am afraid its not WHAT YOU KNOW ITS "WHO" YOU KNOW and that i,m afraid iks at the cost of the region i have never known staff morale so low as this and people will pay with their jobs! and watch out you overworked managers etc beacause if YOU cant do it maybe the,ll get someone who will!!!! now thats proffesional !!
Good luck we need it soon someones going to get hurt and the shit will then hit the fan , will who you know help you then ???

Firstly you are your own H+S officer so if you thinks its wrong or dangerous say no and or dont do it, and secondly if the new managers who have come in are sales directed they can tell you to hurry up and get it done all they like but they cant ask you to break the law.
Just remember its you licence your Adr and your neck politly ask them " are you telling me to break the law" then say get stuffed.

I can understand the need to jump through legal hoops for a strike, but surely we dont need to f**k about for an organised work to rule. One week doing the job by the book, instead of doing the favours and this company will be f**ked. Get your f**kin finger out and set a date

I totally agree with you so lets work to rule from Monday the 6th Dec. Pass it around and lets see how many do it. I suspect quite a lot would including every last man at our depot. So lets get on with it.

I'm more than willing to work to rule from Monday. In the last week i know of 5 unsafe sites that have gone in at our depot & we're still getting the same job routed on other drivers

By working to rule we would get only half of our deliveries done. non bunded tanks a no. only using the ladder provided on the tanker. being able to see the truck from the tank. Not taking the hose through property and driving at 40mph on single carriage way roads. and all this is only possible if the tanker is fit to leave the depot at all because ours are heaps of shit!!!

HAS ANYBODY ANY WORD ON THE BALLOT AND PAY TALKS AS ALL HAS GONE QUITE AND NO WORD FROM THE UNION.NOW WOULD BE THE TIME TO SHOUT AS THE WORK LOAD IS PILING UP DUE TO LACK OF FUEL AT DEPOTS.THAT WAS GOOD MANAGEMENT [HA HA] WE KNOW OF AT LEAST FOUR THAT HAD NO FUEL.AND THEY SEND OUT LETTERS TO CUSTOMERS TO PREPAIR FOR THE WINTER AND THEY CANT PREPAIR THEMSELVES FOR IT.
