Tied together with string and glue

I have a question for the drivers in England and Wales could you tell me. Do you have drivers like we do in Scotland who haven't had a vehicle for months ? it is a common occurrence in Scotland for drivers not to have a tanker for months and months . When our tankers go for a service we don't get the back on the road for weeks between 2 to 4 week . When it`s time for a M.O.T it can take months to get them back on the road , the M.O.T failure is also a common thing . All we hear from the company is for us to save money ,with the cut back in overtime to the trackers for the company watch what we`re doing . The vehicle up here in Scotland could be off the road for weeks because some one is arguing over the price of a spare part . The company goes on about fuel efficient driving ,times to do deliveries and overtime costs , nothing is ever said about down time of vehicles . drivers with no tankers or the length of time off the road for services or M.O.T failures .

I personally find it quite astonishing that a company of this size and apparent stature would actually allow one person (and we all know who we are talking about) to destroy their reputation with suppliers to the point where we are being put on "STOP" for non payment of bills. It's just plain unproffesional!

  4. He is even loathed at a high level of management. I know because I've seen it 1st hand. We all find it astonishing that he is allowed to get away with everything he is doing. We assume he has the ear of the big cheese, it seems to be the only logical explanation. If anyone else behaved like that they would and have been dismissed.

anyone who has any contact with transport managers in this company will know that they are so far up the mds arse that all you can see of them is their ankles.we have started the first seven hours of the cpc here and it the best thing since sliced bread, if only drivers would do as it says and drive to the letter of the law this company would be fecked.Engine management has been introduced to save fuel but we are still sent 40km to do a 500lt drop. work it out, engine management and gps is only another attempt to feck drivers about.28 drivers and 3 routers and a manager to run the transport office, something fishy about that. we have more mangers than drivers here and they all look after each other as if they where bum bandits.

I just wondered if anyone is getting any PG9's from vosa? or is this a problem with lack of maintainence in Scotland in general? or does this problem stretch throuhout the uk ? I work in the Northeast of England and have heard that there is garage run by GB oil's recently bought from a company buy out? perhaps some of you could use that?

All garage's owned by GB'S are having the same problems as the rest of you all.. Accounts put on stop for non payment and hugely a part of the managment trying to drive down the price of the parts all the time!!. Cheaper parts being brought in and wearing out a lot quicker than proper parts!!!!!!... so in the long run it is actually costing the company more money!! Need i say anymore.

I have checked with VOSA and although GB oil's are high profile VOSA as a whole in the northeast dont have any problems with them regards to repairs or poorly maintained vehicles. Your best option to sort this problem would be to involve VOSA... They WILL be very interested in vehicles not being maintained to the required standard.. things like Fuel leaks, poor brakes and steering are all which should be delt with immediately.
You all know its our responsibility to check our vehicle over before travelling... if my vehicle isnt upto scratch i report my defects to a local garage then they come out and repair the fault/faults then i carry on with the days work.
