The OFT wades in to the OIl Scam Debate have your say

:
As a poor customer I read the Sunday Times article with horror Three of us in adjacent houses in this village used Bayford or Bowes (another recent DCC acquisition) thinking we were supporting local firms.
ReplyDeleteThat's three lost customers folks as we're going for an independent and true local. Bound to have a knock on on jobs as your bosses don't come clean with us customers on who they own
As I will now become an ex-customer as of present, I just want to ask a question :
ReplyDeleteWere DCC not content to make a further 12 % increase in their profits last year ? Do they really need to rip off pensioners and others who are already getting it tough enough with the recent extreme conditions and economic times ?
You should be ashamed of yourselves DCC / GB Oils / Bayfords / Southern Counties / EMO / Scottish Fuels / Carlton Fuels and the various Texaco brands that you put to shame !
The recent exposure in the Sunday Times is only the tip of the iceberg. You have been doing the same thing for the past 3 years ! Shame on you and the incompetent managers who decided upon this extortionate course of action.
I'm glad to be retired but I will buy local and thankfully not from DCC or its multiple brands in future.
Luck and good fortune will not favour the fat cats who decided that this was the right course of action. It was not a Sales strategy or a great business plan - This was hatched by people who should be in Wormwood Scrubs !
Your disguise as boilerjuice (some independent !) has been foiled and I hope DCC get fined and punished by OFT and more importantly boycotted by the public !

Bradford
Well Said John. Good luck in your retirement and spare a thought for those of us left @ the great british rip of artists trading as GB Oils
ReplyDeleteWell it's going on all over the UK with this lot.I was quoted one price and the charged 10p a lt more on my bill called up the head office in the Highlands!!!! and all i got was a heap of abuse and then told to write in to get my money back.
ReplyDeleteThank God that we have a new oil company from the North that are offering better prices and service. Simpson from Wick can come all the way from the North cheaper than it can come twenty miles from Inverness.
But after reading this Blog you can see why!!! with the big wages that the top gets it's as bad as Bankers.
So it will be local for me.
(This lot have had a run in with OFT up here already)so lets hope that they are keeping a eye out on them.
Please dont forget that it is GB Oils that are paying all of your wages !
ReplyDeleteNo Dear Sir or Madam
ReplyDeleteDont forget that it is us the customer that pay your wages.
And it's with that comment that sums up GB Oils and there Staff when you phone to make a order, It's our way or sod off well i will be one that will sod off.
Disgusted ex customer
Please don't think that most of the drivers enjoy working for GB Oils, they don't.
ReplyDeleteIm really disgusted that this compamy are ripping off customers.
When the cost price was 45ppl and they charged 75ppl.
I hope the OFT do something to this company.
Unhappy Driver Southeast
quite agree with 9.45. out of 6 depots in southeast that i've been to i haven't heard one driver say they are happy working for this lot and the drivers are just as disgusted about the customers being ripped off.come summertime when we have no work because of this it will be us drivers that will pay with our jobs!
ReplyDeleteYou Drivers just don't understand?? this is how it works.
ReplyDelete(1) You turn up and get paid the wages that you have agreed with the brand that you work for.
(2) The company set the ppl as it has to pay you wages
(3) The company has a lot more to pay out than just you drivers
(4) It's got to pay the top men!!!! and the shareholders as it should be.
(5) It's then got to pay me.
And that's how it works so if you are not happy you know where the door is. Let the top worry about the customers and just do what you get paid (Lot's) for.
8.23 you sound like management why don't you put your name to the comments so we can have a laugh
ReplyDeleteI am an ex employee of GB oils but I was a boiler engineer for them. I was happily working for Texaco boilercare and was a respected employee, then in november 2009 DCC took over, this not only affected the customer service but also the way employees were treated. The first thing to happen upon change was all employees given a number, yep I became a figure on a greedy companies paperwork, this was the start of my horrible experience with this company. Massive price increases for customers (parts were cost x2 and add a bit!) and employees tricked onto a new bonus scheme leaving me 1/3rd down on wages. I got out before I lost my house! I'm sorry to those customers who were let down by this company as have always prided myself on clean and friendly service. One good thing is it was the push for me to be happily self employed.....Thanks GB oils, Team Energy, Texaco, Emo oils or what ever you want to disguise yourselves as.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I agree that the company don't treat people or customers particularly well, I can't help thinking that this blog and all of you who criticise your employer on here will eventually, and through your own stupidity, put yourselves out of a job. If you can afford that then all is well.
ReplyDelete9.48 This is the only way that we can tell the company that they have it wrong! No one wants to lose customers but if you have staff that don't give a dam when they take the order as they have been told to screw the customers or cannot give a delivery date or price then it's downhill all the way. That we have the drivers who don't give a dam as they don’t know day to day if they have a tanker to drive as bills have not been paid to the Garages that services them. So what will a customer that pays all of us going to do!! Easy they will go to a company that will be polite on the phones that have drivers that can deliver on time. So what use is it to work and commit your time to a company that is determined to self-destruct? So if we can get the company to take heed then we will all keep our jobs. And start to keep our customers HAPPY
ReplyDeleteYou are right of course. The problem is that what you say assumes that someone at the top has any common sense. You can only rip someone off once, after that they don't come back. worse still the word gets around villages like wildfire and we are losing customers hand over fist. The company don't see it like this at all because they are extremely arrogant and seem to think that no one will see through them. How naive can you be. The bills for the trucks is down to one idiot in the north that evryone is aware of and he will eventually fall on his sword. Hopefully before he does irrepairable damage to the company's already shot reputation.
ReplyDelete10.57 spot on mate i know that feeling for definate Glad your out and glad your making a decent wage for yourself!!!!.
