To All GB Oils Drivers
Dear Colleagues
National Consultative Ballot re Industrial Action – GB Oils 2009-2010 National Wage Negotiations
This is to advise you that on closure of the National Consultative Ballot of our members within GB Oils and following collation of all ballot results, that this Unions’ members employed within that of GB Oils have overwhelmingly voted in favour of moving forward and proceeding to a legal ballot for industrial action.
You should be advised that the Union now is taking all necessary steps to ballot our members within a legal ballot on that on the question of industrial action.
I will write to you again, after notifying the Company, of when this legal ballot is due to start and conclude. However for now I would be grateful if you would inform our members that the National Ballot Result has returned a mandate to proceed to the next level and that of a legal ballot for industrial action of which this Union is moving forward on.
I would be obliged if you would bring this to the attention of our membership accordingly and whilst I appreciate that this process is time consuming but with the continued patience and support of our membership we will conclude this legal ballot as quickly as we can.
Yours sincerely
Ron Webb
National Secretary, Logistics
Will i still be paid if i strike?
ReplyDeleteHell yes???
ReplyDeleteA lot more than you are getting right now
ReplyDeletei am not in the union. how do i go about joining as our depot doesnt have a shop steward?
ReplyDeletethere will be no strike ! your paymaster will up his offer by half to one % and you will accept it as per usuall ! he is one clever dude your paymaster we should take our hats off to him ! put it this way he aint shaking in his boots !
ReplyDeleteHow can everyone stick together when we are all on different pay rates. 3% of £ 13 is a better rise than 3% of someone on £9 per hour. Some get paid lunch breaks some depots don,t. some get monthly bonuses some don,t. Some depots have overtime restrictions some don,t.The list goes on>>>>>>.GB OILS know this, thats why all 44 companies they own are treated differently, some are doing ok,some are not.
ReplyDeleteBeware GB OILS have no loyalty to its hard working staff.
Post at 6.52... You can contact fraser ross or phone the unite office in holborn london and ask for Ron Webbs secretary. Explain that you work for GB Oils and wish to join and she will put you in touch with a senior steward
ReplyDeletecomment at 2:57 well said that man ! and they will use this against us !
ReplyDeleteComments at 2.57 and 6.43. You both are right of course and the company play on the "I'm alright Jack stuff you" attitude. We need to remember that a union is just that, a union where we all stick together whatever t&c's you have. That's how we beat them and 95% of want to do just that so let's go.
ReplyDeletewe will vote for industrial action, the union will put the result to the company who in turn will up the offer by 1%,then the union will have to return to its members, who will have to vote whether or not to accept, then its back to the company and so on......and hey guess what , Its spring!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteadding to 4.24 spring leads into summer and summer yet again with another winter @1% per time!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove GB oils at our depo they have just cut 15 min's over-time WHOOP WHOOP amongst us and i suppose another few depo's thats your 1% using cheap parts on what u drive with all day moaning about usage eg omg my hose reel is bust but u cant have another as it got to go through the channels and a bollocking for it!!. ITS F***ED REPLACE IT MUPPET!!!!!!!. all together collectivly your 1% should be 5% on parts ovetime bloody saved!!!!.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cold peeps but pls deliver at speed limits and keep warm in your cab's!!!
To all drivers consultive ballot says 95% in favour of industrial action, and GB OILS have the ball back in their court, they might come back with another 1% bringing it up to 6% in total not a bad offer, but they need to reinstate the yearly pay negotiations along side this. also this offer should be with a gaurenteed promise to back date the wage claim and also bring down the time limit to harmonise all contracts from 5 years to 2 years with no loss of earnings or conditions to the people at the top of the pay scale and bring those drivers at the lower end up to the same level of pay and conditions as those at the top.
ReplyDeleteim sorry i cant see why you think 6% over 3 years is not bad ! its not good !!and what were the 5% thinking of !
ReplyDeletehi all, i am a past employee of emo at trafford park depo, when i left i made sure i took anough evidance to show how bad of an employee they are, so i have , recorded phone calls of bosses swearing and threating on phone calls and in meetings, also have copies of emails sent to and from managers to depo supervisors saying things that definatly breaks h&s and employee rights,i have contacted watchdog after seeing it on tv and they want copies of what i have;}. they are more intrested in the additive for kerosene which i have a recorded conversation between me and depo supervisor, where he tells me not to tell customers that it is no good if they have a aga, they are a bunch of sh*ts and hope they get whats coming, thnx
