"We want staff to take pride in the work they do and enjoy working for GB Oils".

A driver from Ashford who has been with the company for 28 years with a previously unblemished record recently had a contamination mainly due to a paper work error on his part. He was dismissed on Friday 9th April.
On Monday 12th April the drivers from Ashford were called in for a meeting where they were asked for voluntary redundancies.
We will leave it up to you to decide what happened here. We will just point out that the company, and I quote, - "We want staff to take pride in the work they do and enjoy working for GB Oils".

What a joke!!!

Well Genteleman.
Can you please share all your happy experience with GB Oils to Sam and the boys. It can be how well that the company looks after you when you have trouble with your Router,Manager,Home or if you have had a illness or any thing ?
Just send a e-mail or post a comment thanks
Frazer.

I understand that a union official is now involved and an appeal has been lodged

Take it from an EX gboils driver, the union will not want to know.
If gboils have all there paperwork in order---which they will have, drivers have not got a hope in hell.
Remember all the bulletins you all sign, they put the blame for everything that happens entirely on the drivers shoulders.

    GOOD LUCK MATE

I think its about time the union had a questionare for all drivers/members to fill in regarding moral across the country so we can tell the company and each other exactly what we think as i am now tierd and gutted that such a big company as GB Oils which from the outside looks so friendly can be so bad. in the region i work in even the low management nd reps attitude stinks towards drivers, or is it about time we all realised that we are as they think something they wiped off there shoes. Id just like to know how many of us actually enjoy getting out of bed in the morning to go to work for GB Oils?

its about time management realise that its the drivers who deliver the oil,and make the profits. Is it easier to take an order?, or pull your tripe out with the pipe and climb over that wall with your ladder then climb up to the tank, then do the delivery safely, then get a bollocking for taking too long to do the job-----too much overtime!

Just a quick note to let everyone now,I think the company is now clawing back any time that you work on saturdays through the week. So if you work sat the routers will reduce your work on monday tuesday etc why work 6 days when ya can get the same pay for 5.

You can all sit there thinking "its DRIVERS who deliver the oil" blah blah ... but dont forget about the other people who also contribute to the overall sale. Drivers although are important are part of the working machine who help to "keep the engine running" Drivers DO NOT make the profits alone you are apart of the team who makes the profits... I.E customer rings ... sales SELL THE OIL, Transport organise delivery, YOU deliver it, Accounts bill the customer, MANAGEMENT handle anyting that goes wrong inbetween.. the point i'm trying to make is NO BODY is solely creditable for making the money... as everyone in the company has a part to play.. Just my thoughts on this issue ... i work for the gargae who repairs the trucks you all drive.
