Ballot
Apologies for the delay in releasing the ballot results. This is due to a few small depots not receiving ballot forms. We are trying to sort it out as quickly as possible so please bear with us. We have to be seen to be conducting the ballot in a proper manner even though any extra votes from now on will NOT affect the ballot result in any way which will show that the members are MASSIVELY in favour of industrial action.
The results of the ballot are that 95% of the membership are in favour of industrial action.
If you are not in contact with a steward please make sure you contact one within the next week or so.
If you need to contact one but don't know who your local steward is please e-mail fraser-ross@hotmail.com and she will pass you on to your nearest Shop Steward.

CAN YOU HEAR US NOW GB OILS ??
ReplyDeleteVery good news. What is the plan now?
ReplyDeleteAs you know this was a consultative ballot only. It was to give us an indication of the mood of the members. It is now abundandtly clear that we have a clear mandate to proceed with a legal ballot for industrial action in support of the wage claim for 2010.
ReplyDeletesenior shop steward i hope you are joking , i honestly thought this ballot was for 2009 ?? as we were suppose to have it last dec / jan !
ReplyDeleteThen I can only suggest that you keep in contact with your steward and you will be better informed.
ReplyDeleteAt last! Does that mean we can finally take them on? Bring it on and the sooner the better. Our lads can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI also thought that all this was to be backdated to dec 08/ jan 09 not for 2010. What has happened to the wage increase for then ????
ReplyDeleteAs this was only a consultive ballot, does this mean that by the time we have ANOTHER ballot for industrial action we will be into spring 2011,so another hard winter for F**k all!!Happy Christmas
ReplyDeleteI would like to think they would bring an offer back to the table now!!! Knowing that 95% of us are willing to take them on......
ReplyDeleteAs a very concerned member of staff I find it absolutely incredulous that one man who doesn't appear to be the sharpest knife in the draw (I think most will know who I mean) can be given so much power that he could, conceivably, cause untold damage to this company. I can only assume that he is feeding his boss with false information as to what is truly going on. We can only hope that he will fall on his sword very soon!
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong but one of the reasons, the offer for 2010 has been overwhelmingly rejected is that the members felt it didn't take into account in 2009 when we went without a pay rise ref post at 9.13pm.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. I wonder sometimes if some people actually know wht day it is.
