DCC has said trading profit for its first quarter to the end of June was ahead of what it had expected, though still down compared with the same period last year.
The company, which is involved in healthcare, energy, food and IT, issued a trading update ahead of its AGM today.
DCC left its outlook for the full financial year unchanged, saying it expected adjusted earnings per share to be "modestly behind to broadly in line" with last year. It said operating profits would be 5pc to 10pc down from a year earlier due to the weakness of sterling.
